In the late 60's everyone was using the Marshall Super Lead 100 the original Plexi. They also used one of the early germanium Fuzz pedals and a Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster. The booster was always on. It boosted the highs but it's main job was to boost the upper mids.
This was so common to this day pedal makers build that sound in to most Plexi pedals and most of us think a real Plexi sounds like this combination.
The Rangemaster was a sizable box with a power cord that sat on top of the amp.
It was not a pedal. It used Mullard OC 44 germanium transistors mostly the silver ones but a few had the gold ones that sounded slightly better.
Williams Audio has a good supply of the silver ones. But they recently uncovered a cache of gold ones enough to do 30 pedals.
So if you want one NOWS THE TIME.
CONCLUSION
It speaks for itself. It is a classic that Page, Iommi, Beck and Blackmore and many others all used.
