This is the clean channel of a Dumble Overdrive Special. A bit silly 

to say but with 72 pedals on my board and 4,400 + pedal reviews 

I am all about pedals. Pedals and tube amps are the 11th 

commandment Thou shall not let any digital guitar amp simulator 

come between them, 😇.

At 80 I have kept my old Plexi but its days gigging with it are more 

than less over. I have been using a Friedman IR-X to replace my 

Marshall but only its clean channel. It is adequate but ....

The layout is Volume, Gain, Bass, Treble and Mids. A 3 way 

toggle gives you Deep and another does 3 way for Boost. 

CONCLUSION __ 

The voicing for a clean sound is spectacular. 

Add a bit of Gain to get some Crunch and 

the Boost adds the balz. I will try and talk 

myself out of it,😟....oh no !!!

Before the Tube Screamer any single channel Brit amp really, 

really needed a Rangemaster. In fact a guy buying a new 

stack bought one that same day.

Like the Tube Screamer it is all about the upper mids NOT 

per se the highs. It is the always on pedal of both Brian May 

and Tony Iommi. Both now use a custom pedal. The layout 

gives you BIAS, Body and Volume and a toggle chooses 

classic for dark sounding amps and or smooth for others. 

    __ CONCLUSION __ 

I think this version really nails it for a modern player. 

It keeps the vibe but knows we all have incredibly

varied gear to amplify and need a Swiss Army Knife 

version. This is on my short list.

MY MONTHLY RANT

The damn politicians are boasting the economy has never been better. None of them can possibly eat or drive a car or why else would they say anything that is beyond that stupid!!!

TIME OUT

Last month nearly everything was a great version of what it is and what it can do. Big BUT!  It was nothing several others offered over the last 5 or even 10 years. The 2 highlights are both Missing Link's The Zepptone does a pedal capturing Pages early Marshall sound including adding the Tone Bender. It is very well done but dead on and perfect for many but pointless to many wanting a broader brush. Missing Link also hade the Afterburner to nail ZZ  Tops 2 biggest hit albums. In one way it is unique and fans will want it. However it is simply a very raw and exciting MIAB sound that thousands would die for.

           LENARD Re-inventions 

           Yes my own brand of pedals.

For years I have checked out Fuzz & other Dirt pedals, made in Sweden, often with an Urban, Industrial look and all with a unique but killer sound. The Big But was they were often $325.00 ish and then shipping on top. Now with world economies the shipping is eye watering and so are the import duties. They are all making prices obscene.

About 6 weeks ago Swedish designer Karl Eriksson got a hold of me with an idea to get a Fuzz to your door with shipping and duties already paid for $145.00 USD. 

I have written a very long but entertaining Post of the whole story.

TONE CITY GOLDEN PLEXI v.3

A MIAB? Literally thousands of this one have been sold over the last 10 years. 

A toggle goes from v.1 that no one wants to lose to a modern take that is 

impressive. In fact impressive enough that it could have been brought 

out as different pedal.
