OVERDRIVE- LIMESTONE AUDIO Jackal____NEW____ Bogner-in-a-Box

LIMESTONE AUDIO JACKAL
$270.00 USD
Another small under the radar MIJ gourmet pedal company. Not
surprisingly making a quality product.
Having bought a few MIJ pedals and I can definitely say everything I got was not just well made but even taken to overkill. It seems crazy to me as anything made physically better than for example an MXR pedal is totally unnecessary. In this age of pedal boards and even turning a pedal on and off with a switcher even the a poorly made pedal can last forever.
THE JACKAL
OK ...my rant aside what have we got? The designers were going for a Bogner sound. They do not claim they have nailed it but that it is useful knowledge to get one in the mental ballpark. I agree.
The layout is volume, tone, treble, mid and bass. A small switch adds bite by adding a little boost using a notch filter in a selected spot in the highs.  Another switch is meant to give you more of a Plexi vibe by cutting the gain. Flip off the bottom and you have access to a switch to compress the signal for a sag effect labeled 'variac'. There are 3 screw driver adjustments for balance, resonance and presence.
CONCLUSION
I can not say I don't like this pedal it sounds excellent but I am not blown away by it. At $270.00 USD it ain't pulling too many triggers. Bogner make the Ecstasy Red mini at $200.00 USD which easily sounds as good as this at $200.00 USD.

the fine print
Limestone do two killer Klons. Both rival the
original for it's glassy sound in the overtones.
They really should be checked out by anyone
wanting a serious Klon
