The Hammertone pedals were announced in January but there has only been sneak peeks and very short shallow reviews of them. Well inventory is now delivered and the serious reviews are coming out
This pedal is simple enough with volume, gain and high and low EQ. Inside the casing are two trim pots to cut the very highs if it seems too fizzy and another to boost the mids.
CONCLUSION
The pedal has gone for an 80's, 90's kind of Metal sound and done so very well. Yes that sound was not as tight or focused as todays sound but it is rich and open and
today's styles were indeed played using these sounds when they first developed. My point is twofold. These sounds are still used by many and pedals that cater for them are $200 plus and are not 'better'. This is definitely the best pedal in the series.

If you wanted to get into Meatal I would put this on
the top of my list. Even if you got really serious about
your Metal sound and moved up to some gourmet special
I doubt very much you would not keep this for a few
tunes that it simply fits better with.
