FUZZ- FENDER Hammertone Fuzz... a cool octave Fuzz for $80.00 USD

FENDER HAMMERTONE FUZZ
$80.00 USD
Fender announced the Hammertone series in January but outside of pre-orders there are no pedals. NAMM is just days away so I expect the pedals will be in the stores in a few weeks. The reviews have just started. They all sound good but I was impressed by the Fuzz especially at the price. The layout is simple with tone, gain and level. A switch brings in the octave effect.
CONCLUSION
As I mentioned they are all pro sounding. There is a lot of choice and some pedals if
only a bit better can be more inspiring. What genre idiom determines the value of pedals like these. I rely heavily on the right OD's for my music so I may well pass on something less impressive than a killer MIAB.
On the other hand a to die for Fuzz from the 60's had only 6 damn parts. So making the Hammertone Fuzz was not rocket science but it still take a tech with a passion to get it to be impressive. Some one at Fender had their sh@t together :-) Hell it even looks cool!!!
Keep in mind it is not a larger than life octave pedal more of pedal that fills both the Big Muff hole and a Tonebender. If you don't have a Fuzz it could get a lot of use. In short it sounds Pro.

the fine print
Yes I gave a good listen to them all. The OD was not bad and the Metal was impressive for an 80's style sound. It as noted in the video hada very wide range. The modulation pedals are more than usable but I am sure they are digital. So except for a Flanger which is hard to get right cheap you can get a great analog
Chorus and Delay even cheaper. The NUX Analog Chorus and their Analog Delay are better choices.
The Reverb is modest but quite usable for basic ambience things.
