OVERDRIVE- COPPERSOUND Foxcatcher .... King of Tone style ...Bluesbreaker

COPPERSOUND FOXCATCHER

$200.00 USD
The Bluebreaker is slowly becoming a replacement for the beloved Tube
Sceamer. The reasons why are many.
The two key issues is that the ts boosts the upper mids killing the lower mids so the sound is neither even or full. The other is more recent that although it is somewhat transparent maintaining the guitar's natural tone there are now much better. The Bluesbreaker solves the first problem but without mods it is not more transparent than a ts.
The Analogman King of Tone probably has the most weight in the world of Bluesbreaker pedals with it's two of the same pedals in one box. One with more gain than the other. With its 4 year waiting list others have been keen to offer an alternative.
Over the last few years there has also been a search for the ultimate transparent OD. The OD that gives you all the great effects of an OD yet allows the tone of the uses guitar to still be prominent in the blend. Recent makers have found that the Bluesbreaker 'cleaned up' is one of the best compromises to this problem. To much gain buries the real tone of a guitar but too little leave the tone lame without balz or sustain.
FOXCATCHER
So an early competitor since KOT silliness kicked in is the 'fox'. Rather than two pedals the high gain one of the KOT is replaced by a boost. They tried this with early KOT OD models and had complaints from users that one lost too much tone. Everyone loved the KOT pushed for a solo but pulled back for everything else. The bullet proof answer was to put 2 in one box.
Coppersound simply did what everyone does now. Just use the same topogography as the original Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal then fix the few issues it had then add and tweak until done :-)
CONCLUSION
It is it's own thing love it or hate it? It's better than? Nothing beats a KOT? Pick one :-)

the fine print
There are many other duel pedal OD's looking to replace the KOT/Bluebreaker. The ones most successful
indeed make one side of the pedal a Bluesbreaker. In most cases these pedals have been designed with
more headroom and transparency into their pedals.  Both Browne and ToneKing now offer the
Bluebreaker  side of their pedals in a standard size standalone pedal. I myself have the
Browne Carbon which is the best transparent OD I have ever ownand I have owned
both the classics and several of the best new offerings.
