If it ain't broke don't fix it. The Tonebender v.1 started life as a modified Maestro Fuzz-Tone FZ-1A to get both more gain and more level. When the spencer Davis Group had a hit with Stevie Winwood on guitar voice and keys sales went at a gallop.

The layout is dead simple with just Volume and Gain. Inside there is a BIAS trim pot to tweak for geranium temperature change probs.  

CONCLUSION  

This is the real deal with NOS Germanium

transistors. I am impressed!!!
