GINEAN
Excitation|| DISTORTION
A clone of the recently reissued DOD Gunslinger FET high gain Overdrive.
The layout is simple with Gain, Level, Treble and Bass. The original was inspired by an early Ibanez pedal the 1990's Mostortion.
It came out with bad timing when guys were looking for really high gain
Metal sounds but it had nailed the more of the Marshall JCM 800 thing
so it did not sell well.
DOD brought theirs out when a lot of players were going back to classic sounds. As luck would have it DOD was closed do to issues with the owners that bought DOD as part of a package deal of JBL and other brands they
wish to own the names of to put onto consumer goods like speakers for
your Laptop etc. Ginean jumped in, to fill the gap with clones but now
the real DOD is back. Is it the Mostortion curse, lol.
CONCLUSION ___The DOD Gunslinger is back and at $110.00 USD for a made in the U.S. is damn fair.
But even so at $45 & with shipping included it is less than half. Of course for $200
you can get the brand new Wampler Mosfetta, lol. As for an accurate clone I have
the Ginean Hairy Show Fuzz, their clone of the DOD Carcosa and they nailed it.
I have been tempted to get a Boss OD-3 as it is aimed at that same sound of
Hard Rock meets Metal. The Boss is bit heavier sounding and I have been
looking for the perfect match up for a semi. At present I use a Boss-OD1 clone.
I am both impressed and tempted by this Ginean.

The new Mosfetta is Wampler's very latest pedal and is a take on the Boss Mostortion too. It is $200.00 USD. I like DODs take better. The one thing that drives me nuts is creating a big deal around a FET pedal. 95% of the super killer pricy MIAB pedals use cascading FETS.In short you could easily be a guy with a FET OD already. Think of someone selling you a car with a V8 engine and making you think theyinvented it. It is what the marketing guys are doing with their re-invented Mostortion pedals.
It is total B.S. stacked a mile high, 😡
