NEED TO KNOW ___ FRANK ZAPPA is ....but could he play ???

WAS FRANK ZAPPA 

 ANY GOOD.... 

Franks biggest strength was that he new theory on a very comprehensive level. I am not talking about the major and minor scales of the Bach era. 

He understood Varese and was comfortable with the approach of composers like Bartok and Stravinsky and dare I say, Schoenberg.
