This is the second pedal Vox made for Joe Satriani. The pedal is over 12 years old and has become an early adopters vintage collectible. The layout is a simple gain, tone, bass, and volume. The switch takes it from a OpAmp based circuit to 'modern' which is a germanium transistor circuit. Odd as nothing is more antique then a germanium. The pedal is more of Tube Screamer thing meant more for a booster to push the amp into OD than like the Satchurator where the sound is more self contained. CONCLUSION There are similarities to the Vox Satchurator. But the Satcherator is quite frankly a warmer, fuller sounding pedal that is happy working at unity gain.
