These guys do not bring out a new pedal often. This one so so new the paints wet. Today is release day!
As expected this is not your Marshall-in-a-Box dirt pedal.
It sounds very old school. It sounds a bit FET like but I expect it is silicon transistors with LED diodes inserted for some voices for a bit of snarl and growl.
On the plus side it has a lot of character. You have about 3 different voice as the ones between them are merely a shade of grey.
There have been 3 or 4 OD released in the last few weeks. Everyone is $200.00 USD. These are the kind of brands that I would have expected at is at least $25.00 USD. more. Something is going on. I feel it is both a concern that there is an unwillingness to buy during this C19 thing and a bit of P.R. Some of it real empathy & some of it just a good business sense.
CONCLUSION
It is indeed versatile but like most pedals what you gain invariety you lose in nailing one perfect sound.
It would make a great first OD and add another that nails that one sound you just love ...or a great second pedal because you have a favourite already but on some tunes it just doesn't do the tune justice.
