GUITAR- a project guitar that is not a dumbed down guitar ...like a Squier is to a US Fender.

The GRETCH G2210 STREAMLINER Jr. JET

If you want a basic well made cheap guitar to hotrod nothing has more going for it than a Gretsch.
Gretsch do not like Gibson and Fender make dumbed down guitars. No one thinks a Gretsch is a dumbed down anything. If you get a Squier or Epi you have what everyone sees as a dumbed down version of a Fender or Gibson. A Gretsch is simply a Gretsch. Add to that the whole guitar is mahogany. Not even the wood is dumbed down. The only thing that would make a big difference are the pickups ...but the idea is it a project guitar so they would be scrapped on any project guitar.
It comes in several colors but I like the grey as it is different enough to be cool but not in your face. It also doesn't look cheap.

What's not to like. The shape has been used on
many guitars since the 50's not just on the LP
It is mahogany body with a laurel fretboard
(often called Indian rosewood)
a bolt on neck but so are expensive Fenders
best of all ....
$300.00 USD

Go ahead click on each one and check out the details
These guitars are paint grade type A mahogany they will sound
as good as a very good hand select AAA
but they are meant to be painted
so the brown stain makes the guitar look cheap

The white one looks a little cheap with
the cream color PU rings and gold knobs
They need to be black or chrome
They make the guitar look thrown together

The light gold is gives this guitar a classic
Gretsch look ...nice
