OVERDRIVE-DANELECTRO ROEBUCK ...an Ibanez Mostortion knockoff! Good? Or?

$200.00 USD
DANELECTRO ROEBUCK OD
In 1990 Ibanez brought out the first Mosfet transistors OD
The same kind of transistors in most of the premium OD like all the Marshall-in-a Box are based on FETs because
FETs sound very close to tubes.
At the time guys were using hard clippers OD's made using silicon transistors. FET's sound the closest to tubes but players were not interested and the Ibanez Mostortion pedal tanked and was pulled
out of production.

The layout is a 3 way EQ, gain and level and a switch to
to add clipping diodes.

CONCLUSION

There are a few other takes on the Mostortion. All have taken the new and improved route. I think it misses the point. There are dozen of new pedals based on FETS so once you make the first FET pedal new and improved
where do you stop and the pedal simply becomes a modern OD.
If it is just a modern OD then there are plenty that are better!

  1. Hi Paul. The biggest issue on these is the price. Danel3ctro always belonged in the lower bracket price range with great sounds. Now they are charging ridiculous prices like they are boutique. If they had stayed in the same bracket as the Breakout or Eisenhower it would have been fine but these ones are almost $300 canadian.

  2. What is even crazier are these pedals are based off a specific old pedal that you can get someone doing a clone using NOS for the parts or you can get a modernized one (like they do) that is even better. most of those are cheaper or if not you can easily hear on the video it sounds a lot better.
