OVERDRIVE-BARONI-LAB Morpheus Drive ...70's high gain OD

 BARONOL-LAB MORPHEUS DRIVE

$170.00 USD
This is a 70's style high gain OD. The layout is
the usual gain and tone  but a mid boost and overall boost is also included. It has a bass 'contour' which
I am not clear what it does. Baroni have some excellent pedals but over the last few years even a pedal they brought out over 3 years ago does not have
a single video. the video's that do show up are often
unhelpful.
This pedal has plenty of gain and it's voicing sounds like it is either using an OpAmp with clipping diodes or it is using silicon transistors. Think ProCo Rat in it's approach to dirt.
CONCLUSION
The tone borders on Fuzz and is very aggressive and a bit nasally. Stacked in front of a good OD it could make a serious booster for Metal type gain. BUT!
There a lot of better choices even with 70's era hard clipper designs. The Rat is the classic one. I have a
TL Pedals Rat which is a dead clone of the 'Big Box'
It is made with the original Motorola LM 308 chip It is a killer pedal and only $130.00 USD! Check the Post.

  2. Well first they reasonable priced and well made. I have their noise gate but if you accidentally move the gate knob it cuts off the whole signal. The problem is they basically make clones and I always find their is a better clone.Like all pedals a certain pedal sometimes works just right with your rig and playing style and if it turns out to be a xin at least you know it is well made. In Chinese Xin is pronounced Shee. Thanx for writing and stay safe!
