From the Czech Republic comes a take on the late 60's Color Sound Power Boost used by Jeff Beck and Dave Gilmour used it on Dark Side of the Moon. Not to mention Marc Bolan and Page!
A true reissue is available but for about $600.00 USD. OUCH! There are many very good clones of it but they all have it's many foibles. Ideal for the hobbyist or a guy with just a very few pedals they can be managed. Still the Color Trip uses vintage parts so it is best to be at the front of your chain. Otherwise getting a good sound is not as tricky as the original type clones.
The Lee Hooker capture the basic sound very well but will work with anyone's set up very well.
CONCLUSION
It is unique pedal and as such is a great addition to a great modern OD or Fuzz.
Comparing it to others is not a bad idea so I will tag on a video so you can.
The TRU-FI COLOURDRIVER is probably the best value
as it comes within a hair of the original. $160.00 USD
The 60's style box makes it fun to own without getting
too silly on the size.
