OVERDRIVE-BMF Great Wide Open Distortion ...lots of gain very tight and almost transparent.

 BMF  GREAT WIDE OPEN DISTORTION
$180.00 USD
I find that with BMF control is everything.
You barely have to mute your strings. But then you trade off
all the goodies like fatness and sustain and soaring harmonics. None of that taming of the wild beast. A lot of OD's simply seem similar but not by design ...they want a big sound and are not up to it. BMF never takes away by not adding something else.
Players that play blues based and Americana type music are big fans. They tend to leave both your guitar and amps sound alone.
This one is little different in that it has a lot of distortion caused by high gain which mean's sustain too. BUT ...in BMF tradition the sound has been tighten by blending in some clean and knocking down the lows.
Your guitar never loose's definition ...this as at the sacrifice of not trying to make it sound amp like except in the mids.

CONCLUSION
It sounds great and does it's job. Some styles of music need it.
I would not. To me BMF dirt pedals are like driving a car with the brakes on.
If you want a big sound but a lot of control the best is Alexander pedals Silver Jubilee
