FUZZ- WRIGHTSOUNDS Fuzz-Stang MkII ... Sam Ash Fuzz-Stainer re-erected

 WRIGHT SOUNDS| FUZZ-STANG MK.II
$200.00 USD

Matt Wright a guitar tech in Portland Oregon stumbled on to a defunct Sam Ash
Fuzz-stainer 10 years ago that he felt worked great in a Devo cover band he was in. Players kept asking what the Fuzz he had was and where to get one. A friend nagged him to make his own. He did he made 100 and felt that was it and maybe years later he would be finished selling them. He made a Facebook page in in a short time was shipping pedals all over the planet. Even so he still does his guitar Tech thing and his pedals are a hobby that makes a little.
The original Sam Ash was used by Lou Reed and by others in the early New York
American Punk scene.
Now the torch is past with players like Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes using the Wrightsounds Fuzz.

CONCLUSION
Certainly a so bad it's good pedal. Amongst the hyenas farts duck quacks and various rusty door squeaks is some very nasty but cool sounds.
Best of all it does suggest a germanium Fuzz on a good day but uses silicon transistors. As dumb luck has it the original transistors are still made and therefore cheap. The added BIAS and gain controls really do improve the sound and account for sounds a modern player would use.
