THE BIG COMEBACK

Two years ago all but a few Diamond pedals were listed on their site. Over the months there were even less, and less. The company seem to be in some serious trouble Covid and the general economy had taken their toll.

Well just across town is Solid Gold FX who invited they merge. Solid Gold are known mainly for their killer Fuzz pedals. Sharing the tech and overhead is ideal.

It is the perfect time after 20 years was to bring back the 6 biggest selling pedals .All updated.

I am sure more will be added. There old MIAB and Fuzz sells for stupid money used. there is no doubt though that these 5 pedals were their big sellers.

I will have posts of them on them ASAP but all of them are not officially released yet.

Some of the most coveted compressors are vintage Optic devices that run

using light yes just like a light bulb , light. I will save you paragraphs to explain 

the problems but in 2005 Diamond patent a tech that solved the problem. It makes using Optic pedals for modulation or compression bulletproof & even relatively cheap to build. Of course patents run out so hundreds of pedal makers now us it.

The old Diamond Comps sound so damn good they sold really well for 

20 years. The new one addresses Optic Comps one major problem. 

They always kill some highs. Diamond has address this with added EQ. 

The layout is Level, Compresion (the amount of) Mids to gently fatten your whole sound an Tilt EQ (it keeps drops the lows in proportion as you add the highs killing any mud as you make your tone to the right amount of highs for your rig. Finally you have an Attack switch to give you a nice crisp clean bite the moment you pluck a string.

COMPRESSION

There are many compressors and many totally different ways to make them. The best of every 

kind both operate and sound excellent. But I must debunct the total myth that some are totally transparent. It B.S. they all have a sound. The best is the one you love the sound of.

The sound of the Diamond is why it sold consistently well for 20 years.
