CALINE CP-25 HIGHWAY MAN
OVERDRIVE
$30.00 USD |
CONCLUSION
There is a bit of a catch. It has been in the Caline catalogue for 6 years but just weeks ago
they discontinued it. Yes there are enough out there new and used but for new they won't
last. I got turned onto the Xotic by a half minute demo by Jazz Rock guitarist Oz Noy.
Xotic discontinued it but just brought it back as a limited run.
At $30.00 USD___It is worth putting on my short list.

ReplyDeleteHighway Man = Timmy clone?
Dolamo overdrive is supposed to be a rebranded Caline Highway Man
ReplyDeleteThe Highway Man is actually the exact same circuit and board as the Pure Sky except with linear and log tapered pots for bass and treble while the Pure Sky has C50ks. I wish it was an rc clone. I believe the little Flamma booster an clone though. https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?p=287021&hilit=Caline+highway+man#p287021
ReplyDeleteThe Flamma FC18 clean boost is a Xotic RC booster clone?
ReplyDeleteI haven’t taken it apart to confirm that but I’d be willing to bet it’s close if not identical. Active treble and bass controls plus with the gain maxed there’s very little gain. It can add that extra boost with the glassiness top end like the rc and bd-2 but much less gain than the bd2. They have the ocd clone, rat clone and whar appears to be the mooer elady clone as well. Mooer cloned all of those including the rc and ac booster. The bb, rc and ac are all extremely similar circuits. It’s a good pedal for the money.
