BBE
WINDOWPANE SILICON FUZZ
This company was big in the 80's with signal processers used both live andin the studio. Eventually players went back to preferring pedals. A new thing came along. The small one man operation we call the Gourmet pedal builder. BBE went with the flow and added pedals to their offerings. The best have gone through dropping oversize boxes down to the standard Hammond B box then down to mini and then back up to B boxes, lol.At any rate they have a rep of good value for money, well made and reasonably priced takes on the classics. This Fuzz is a silicon Fuzz Face.
Nicely beefed up with both a fatten and yet tighten sound with a bit of bite on the attack.
CONCLUSION
A Fuzz that checks all the boxes. You can push it into a bit of spit & splatter in your face thing or pull it back right into a Dave Gilmour nearly OD type sound.
BBE says it is a beefed up Fuzz Face Silicon. To my ears it sounds like a Sola Sound Tonebender MkIV. It sells used for $630.00 USD ...now that is a big bonus. That sound for $100 is a steal.
HANDS ON ... I got mine. It is a very controlled sounding Fuzz It is heavily compressed without sounding like it is. it does not handle any serious touch sensitivity. It is how killer as a Booster. It tightens up and adds great sustain stacked on other pedals. On it's own it give you a good powerhouse sound with lots of sustain yet lays beautifully behind the vocals without fighting with them. It is on my board to stay.
