OVERDRIVE- JANIS.LV Miesnieks ...not to be ignored!

 JANIS.LV MIESNIEKS OVERDRIVE
$160.00 US
From Latvia comes a new OD that in English would be called the Butcher. lol
Nothing unusual on the layout with a simple volume, gain and tone.
A toggle switches between two levels of gain. The sound is incredibly fat. The mids are full from low to high. The gain is totally usable from very low right thru a very high gain. It is very touch sensitive it follows every nuance of how hard or light you hit the strings.
It has a basic Brit vibe to the whole sound though not anything specific like a Plexi.
The best thing about it is it usable throughout it's entire range.

CONCLUSION

It is damn impressive as it has such a broad range. The overall tone is creamy and harmonically rich. It would be a near perfect pedal if you had some control over the mids. The resonance peak is dead center so your mids are very flat. Many players prefer either a scoop or emphasis
on the low or higher end of the spectrum. Most OD's pick one fixed voicing and is what gives them character and identity. Of course you
then only love it or hate it. Many players love the King Of Tone because
it does not get lost in the mix on stage when the lows from the bass,
keyboard and drums kill your lows and make your guitar sound thin.
It too has flat mids. So in some bands this could be the perfect pedal!
