Regular readers may know I have owned both a BEOD and a Dirty Shirley but then after a year sold them. Why? I found other pedals that did the same thing better in fact a lot better. Check out pedals by Lawrence Petross, Tech N Tone and PedalPalFX.
So I am a bit apprehensive about this pedal.
The layout is simple. It has your standard Volume, Gain and Tone. there is a high cut to match it to your amp. A second switch gives you 3 voices. The voices are impressive.
The pedal is a transparent, low to medium gain
aimed at pulling you away from buying a Tube Screamer.
CONCLUSION
It is flat out damn impressive. If you back it off it gives you one of the best clean/dirty transparent sounds I have ever heard. The voices give you degrees of a very full resonance. It can sound like a Plexi clean ...the kind you get just before crunch that is a killer sound because you get
that even at low volume. It is the very best Friedman has ever made.
