OVERDRIVE- VICK AUDIO V-2 ...does it sound like a Pete Cornish ? No! but maybe even better?

VICK AUDIO V-2
$145.00
This is an outright clone of a Pete Cornish G-2 distortion
The original is still produced in very small numbers for a price! Price? $639.00 USD.

Do they sound the same? I hope not!!!! not at the price of both.

The original is cleaner but also thinner. Which is odd because it uses germanium transistor and the v2 uses silicon. To be fair G2 was meant to act more like a Tube Screamer and overload the pre in a tube amp so that it was the amp that produced most of the tone. The Vick is a lot fatter and warmer. It is more multi pedal friendly in this age of big pedal boards with the amp set clean and the pedals set to unity gain.

It is well made reasonably priced and sounds good!

CONCLUSION
I think old Vick should have not bothered attaching the V-2 to the G-2.
He has a great pedal with it's own great sound. It is warm  fat and beautifully
resonant. It will make a half decent Combo sound like a stack. I know of
a few other pedals that can do this but I could get two V2's and a case of beer
for the price. LOL
Please no V.2 it ain't broke so don't fix it!!!!
YES!
Well done Vick !!!! Take a bow!!!
