Empress have a stellar reputation for quality. When it comes to their digital pedals nothing but state of the art parts are used. They are already 3 generations past company's like Strymon!
Not much to sort out with the layout.. It has highs, lows, gain and level.
This is an old school Fuzz/Overdrive, Depending on how you set it up.
It is definitely a silicon Fuzz a bit dark when you want a wall of sound. You can do anything from classic hard rock sound to full blown metal.
It is solid as solid as a rock ...tight, thick and punchy wit all the balz you could ever want.
It one of the very best of it's kind. It isn't a revisited
sluttering germanium classic. They have their
place and I for one love both kinds.
Some will not like it's very studio produced sound
Still I am attracted to it because of it's
tight and versatile and never out of your control tone.
It has been around for awhile fans of modern metal
are looking for tight dirt pedals and pushing a stack
with this has lot of advantages
