COMPRESSOR- J. ROCKETT Airchild Six Sixty___NEW___ Fairchild 66 rack-in-a-box

$230.00 USD

J. ROCKETT AUDIO DESIGNS
 AIRCHILD  Six Sixty
This is the J.R. take on the defunct Fairchild 660 tube Compressor in a pedal. These sell for $60,000.00 used. Like all old killer rack units they have a long list of super stars insisting on them for recording. The layout is Volume, Tone, Blend ..to bring in some clean signal and Threshold
...to add more comp right up to total limiting levels.
 CONCLUSION ___
Full limiting is a bit in your face as the unit is very full sounding. The Comps tone is indeed assertive & even still a bit too mid boosting but you can EQ that out. Some comps have a nice tone but are kind of transparent. Your signal changes to a compressed sound but the compressors sound is not added very much. This is not like that. The Origin Cali76 is another like this that adds a lot of is own sound. Both Comps have a
following because they add but the addition is pleasing.
In short you have an ascetic decision to make not just
a tech one.
It is why comps are called an OD for clean sounds
when they are teamed with guitars.
This has moved onto the top my short list.
