Well Big Knob pedals are all about reviving the
past. Either by cloning old pedals or making new ones
that capture the impression of the sounds that we
hear on old recordings. Pedals like their
Color Jumbo actually nail the old Colorsound
Jumbo Tonebender. To a great extent Dave
Gilmour of Pink Floyd tended to capture the basic same
sound with all the equipment he used. The Pink Freud
is fair attempt to capture that sound.
In this case NOS Russian germanium transistors are used
to make it's Fuzz/OD sound.
I for one will not say if it does or doesn't. I will say
that it is a great sounding dirt pedal. It is full, rich
and has great sustain.
If it sounds good ...it is good. It sounds good.
There are dozens of pedals that will leave you
comfortably numb. lol
