At one time I would have given this effort a pass.Introduced in 2010 this OD is definitely not in anyway a deception of tube/valve amp distortion but at best an impression of it. The magic here is it is not a Fuzz dressed up as an OD either. It does have a very organic quality and a crude charm to it. It has a chunky sound with a molten lava texture.
The layout is simple with Level and drive and a 3 way EQ
which has a significant amount of range to fatten or thin out the tone.
It has been just recently been discontinued so stock is low but so is the price.
CONCLUSION
It is the end of an era when builders thru trial and era but a lot of creativity designed dirt pedals to sound good or be responsive. Often it was designed simply to present you
with a sound that had aggression and attitude.
Who knows ...it may make a come back with young players
wanting to give the finger to their older
siblings who are using the latest modeling effects.
