This V.A. take on the classic Colorsound Fuzz Box from the early 90's which was based off of the early 60's designs most notably the Tonebender.
It has a strong midrange but the gain is so maxed out that the overtones keep it bright so a lack of any serious highs are irrelevant as it is nice and bright.
The lows are weak by today's Metal Fuzz standards
but are acceptable. The spit and sputter are well under control.
CONCLUSION
Vick Audio have always made a good product
and at the sale price this is a luring buy.
The thing I have found with a one knob Fuzz pedal both the gain and volume interact so as a rule make it is difficult to create 'Unity Gain'. In short when used with other pedals
this pedal may be too loud or not loud enough and changing the volume you also end up changing the tone.
The graphics are great ... even if virtually stolen right off the Colorsound :-)
