The first boosters were very Hi Fi ...dead clean and simply pushed up the level and then came the next wave that were colored with warmer tones followed by ones that had an actual voice that may boost some frequencies and cut others usually not to
too extremely but noticeable.
The 2 B is something new it is really clean with a gentle boosted curve in the mids that fattens the whole sound. Then the highs are boosted to the point that they should be strident and really harsh ...but a limiter kicks in using a germanium diode that squashes them down and also warms them up.
It creates a near SRV sound if you play a Strat.
