In the 80's Maxon designed and built the Ibanez MT-10 Mostortion.
It was one of the first MOS-FET pedal designs. Famous for turning a new chip into a super pedal they used the the latest cutting edge CA3260 IC chip.
It was a great sounding pedal but had some issues with reliability.
It faded as other company's came along.
Karma has resurrected the chip and built a very impressive variable gain pedal that is quite transparent.
