From Santiago Chile come Humboldt. The first pedal
builder from Chile to have any serious international
sales.
The pedal goes from some really sweet medium gain sounds to high gain sounds that still keep a nice richness to the tone.
It has the standard volume drive/gain and tone controls.
It is however the ever important mids that also have there
own control. It works exceptionally well to boost the upper mids and pull out those sweet harmonics which give the pedal a very rich sound. I think the mids are this pedals 'Secret Sauce'.
It is fat,full,and rich. Even when pushed to very high gains it maintains that sound.
It has none of what I call all that Jazz Fusion insipidness yet it is not at all aggressive.
Mellow yes ...yet assertive!
It is always polite but has a masculine grandeur.
If you said you were looking for a mature laid back sound then this it!
In fact it OWNS that territory.
If I heard and saw the pedal and was asked the price I would have said
about $325.00 USD ...the damn thing is less then half that!!!
I find it odd to say something this laidback is killer! But it is just that ...Killer!!!
