OVERDRIVE-MAD PROFESSOR Super Black ...Fender Black Face ...maybe the best!!!

 MAD PROFESSOR SUPER BLACK
$250.00 USD
The reputation for the Mad Prof. pedals for quality gear is given. This just released pedal does not disappoint.
The Fender black faced amps were the first with improved headroom and the predecessors to the silver faces amps that made Fender famous for crystal clear clarity.
They left the dirt side of things to Marshall.
The Tweed amps that started it all had hints of the black face when kept pulled back but they are more famous for their dirt when cranked.
Between each era were some nice amps at the transition.

The Mad P. as you can see on the pedal's pic covers 'all'
your basic functions with additions like compression which is subtle and give you a very natural saturation. all this detail is to allow you to imitate perhaps Deluxe over a Vibrolux etc.
The Pro. was wise to quite literally lay out the circuit to match the actual amp.
The results have paid off.

The pedal is all about detail. Detail that will not leap out in a video but is very important not only to the sound but the feel of the dynamics under your fingertips.
The videos are not overly constructive. I am not sure if it would help as watching someone going thru shades of gray in the sound may dampen your enthusiasm. lol

CONCLUSION
I will be the last one to say it doesn't sound good ....but for me this just doesn't have the impact of the new Keeley Sweet Spot Johnny Hiland Super Drive.
The Keeley is cheaper at $180.00 USD smaller and dead simple to set up.
The sound of the Keeley jumps right out at you.
Keeley has the advantage of not saying it is Fender style OD.
It has a fair bit of Tweed in it so with a bit of rich distortion it is bound
to get you off your chair. Compare it. Yes?
