GUITAR- HAGSTROM Impala Temar ...is this the ultimate VINTAGE? but will play Metal guitar??? Why so cheap???

 HAGSTROM IMPALA TREMAR Copper Burst

This guitar is nuts! It is entry level priced but it has elements that are only found on high end guitars.
How about a fixed neck with both neck and body made with solid mahogany.
The neck is joined by a long mortise and tenon joint (only found on Custom Shop LP's) it transfers vibrations better and increases sustain.
The neck also uses a H-Expander truss rod. The guitar will rarely need adjustment! It also increases sustain.
How about ANICO 5 pickups the kind used on Hendrix's Strat! These are even wound hot!
Oh yes ...and and a GraphTech nut? It does wonders to keep the whammy from detuning the guitar.

$375.00 USD
Why so cheap? well Thomann sell them
they are all about high discount high volume
and sell world wide to get it.

What's with the switches?

Check with the video it takes you through the switches etc.
Well you can turn the PU's on and off & their tone on and off.
You can also 'cut' the whole guitar sound and there is a bass cut. The bass cut is the most interesting. Great for flatpicking or fingerpicking. It is not overkill and many leave it always on because it tightens the sound beautifully. The switch called mute is not what you think ...it is meant to give quasi trumpet type mute. a very, very mild fixed wah sound. The whammy is an original Hagstrom recently designed from the ground up. It works like a Bigby but the tuning stability is excellent and the Graphtech nut is
there to help make it even better
The neck has a 24 3/4"scale like a Gibson.

If you love in your face guitars check this! lol
Talk about balz!!!
This ain't no nerds guitar!!!

CONCLUSION
I love it.
First the whole look including the Copperburst finish was a 50's Danelectro fave of just a skinny rim of colour going just past the edge of the guitar. Then added to that the raised logo on the body and the headstock just like a 50's American car. Magnatone guitars used it too. I have a knock off of the MK III.

With the thick mahogany body and fixed Gibson scale neck ...you could put in a Gibson Burstbucker 2 PU at the bridge. Next put a chrome frame around the hummie to match the look and a chrome toaster PU cover to disguise the PU you have. Trust me it will pass as retro as it came. Even 99.9% of other players will not be able to tell. It will look like a stock lightweight nerd's guitar!
Match it to a good Plexi pedal and watch the faces of any players at a gig when what comes out sounding like a Gibson SG going into a Stack!!!!
Trust me it will!!!

TIME OUT FOR SHORT DIGRESSION

Trust me it will??? Why do I know???

I also design guitars. My company is LENARD RE-INVENTIONS. LENARD GUITARS will be my first offering.
I will give you heads up around March 2020 when we go on-line via a REVERB Store.
I even got a little help from my friends ...good ol' Rob Chapman of Chapman Guitars gave my manufacture a thumbs up for quality.
Just an opinion but do not be surprised if Chapmans get made where LENARDS are made.
How about a former employee of the 50's Gibson Kalamazoo plant who contributed
to LENARD GUITARS structural design. Cool or what!!! He new sh@t that other companies would die for! You have not the wildest idea of what they knew but did not apply to a model they sold. A guitar that sounds as good an LP could be made for a fraction of the price.

the original 50's guitar
I own several updated vintage reissues guitars that started life as the ugly duckling! The audience just love the look especially the ladies. But seeing some know it all guitar player get blown away. Heaven!!! Join the club do up a Hagstrom!
NOTE: They make the Condor a three pickup Impala and an Impala in black and one in brown sunburst...but in all cases the finishes are more conventional. The horns appear fatter and the pickguard is black & so are the PU's

This one is actual called the Impala Tremar Artist Project Model
The horns appear thinner and sharper and it is the only model with a light gold pickguard and cream coloured PU's . The finish and whole look is unique. It is well named because this is 'the' project guitar!!
Check out original! I think they simplified it enough to be a 21st century guitar but kept enough to be cool!!!

WHY THIS MAKES A GOOD INVESTMENT!
Keep in mind the PU will require routing at about $75.00 USD. The PU should be $80.00 to $200 USD from used to new. The cover and frame about $20.00 USD to $30.00 USD.
maybe around $200 give or take. So total  ...$575.00 USD ...BUT you will have a keeper!!!

It is cool now and unlike the the hot new 'this and that' it will not be cool today and dated in a year or two!
It is like a Dano it has it's own pro cool.
If Page did a solo tour and dragged out his Dano ...cool. But if he dragged out an LTD or a Squier etc. you would wonder w.t.f. or worse yet laugh!!!
