DELAY- MOSKY Magnetic Delay ...Keeley Mag Echo clone?

MOSKYMAGNETIC DELAY

$35.00 USD
This company has always focused on marketing their pedals as copies. They are tied into Moogoo and also Demon FX who I suspect is their design department since they often sell a handmade version of pedals that over time show up as Mosky.
Sometimes Moogoo takes it a big leap forward in the copy game by making and selling forgery's. Some of their pedals literally duplicate the circuit board. In one case they must have sent out a board they pulled out of the original pedal to copy because the board maker even copied the places on the board where it had the brands name right on the board, lol.
So all that said this is a Keeley clone, at least with the look.
I find they both sound good.
The modulation to simulate the wow and flutter of tape sounds just bit like a chorus on the Mosky. It will happen if some clean sound gets mixed in.This can happen with a leak in the circuit of the cleans. The original Tube Screamer design has a leak, lol. So it can be a positive thing. In short it is an ascetic decision. The Keeley is more convincing if
the goal is trying to duplicate the effect of wow and flutter.
Tape delay pedals imitate what happens when on the original machine the rubber wheels that spin and pull the tape across over the record and playback heads wear out and pull the tape thru at at an uneven rate of slow, fast, slow fast. A bit of this is pleasant and creates vibrato. The pedal gives you control over the amount and its intensity.
CONCLUSION
It just damn well sounds good, looks good and is cheap. I use 5 delay pedals and my favorite is my MXR Echoplex. What I like about it is it compliments the playing on my tunes but never competes with them. If you are all about setting up your delay and basically leaving it alone like it is just a different way to get the vibe that a spring reverb does in a Fender amp then welcome to the club. This will do it.

$150.00 USD

 DEMON FX TAPE ECHO

$40.00 USD
Yes ...you can get it branded with their other logo.
If you pay another $5.00 :-)

  1. I love the MXR Echoplex so much I bought two. My second favorite delay is the Mr. Black mini echo delay.

    1. One guy that really knows pedals is Dave Friedman gave me a heads up. Evidently EVH retired his real tape Echoplex and preferred to use the MXR. The other pedal that completes the sound is the Digitech Polara because it has the best of the Lexicon sounds in it. Unfortunately Digitech/ Dod are owned by Samsung who ceased making any inventory and are simply slowly liquidating old stock. They have not made any new Polara for over about 2 years.

    1. The reason the Mosky are so good they don't just clone a sound they literally clone the circuit boards and make an identical pedal. They are owned by Moogoo who also doses handmade pedals under the DemonFX name. From time to time they sell forgeries.I have their fake Fulltone OCD and even the board was copied with Fulltone printed on it.

  3. Paul DemonFx have been hitting it out of the park lately with their jan Rey and king of drive pedals. Their Tube Screamer has always been a winner.

    1. I discovered them ages ago but there were no video's at the time. I do not know for sure yet but I think they are another Moogoo product. They have had Mosky and DemonFX forever. Plus they sell counterfeits as well, lol. Knowing how this thing works It will be the same guys and same factory doing all this stuff.
China produces more straight 'A' engineers then there are high paying jobs. Many end up in less glamorous jobs like working in the pedal game. In short they know their sh@t so you get well designed and great pedals.
