OVERDRIVE- AMT ELECTRONICS P-Drive mini ...a serious EVH-in-a-Box

AMT ELECTRONICS
P-DRIVE
$65.00 USD
The P is for Peavey and we all know which one ..the 5150. The layout is simple. Volume, tone and gain.
You can run it at 9v or 12v.
AMT have been doing a take on all the classic amps with their Amp-in-Box pedals for about 12 years. Sergei Marichev has been designing and making these pedals since 1986. He doesn't just do 'versions' but generations. There is in fact 4 generations. There are those with a real tube but I am not including that or it would be 5 versions.
The first one looked like MXR pedals they only got discontinued 4 years ago. The second and subsequent pedals looked like the Mini pedals. The third were like analog versions of
a modeler in that you had a second volume with an analog impression of an ir/speaker to send out a second jack to record or go the mixing board etc. The last ones were the Mini pedals. They all do enough of a take on the amp that you can recognize it for being what
it says it is. In other words the Soldano sounds like a Soldano :-)
The AMT voicings are never muddy or without some reasonably good detail in the overtones. They are all at minimum 9 out of 10. The build quality is excellent and they
have Boss like rep for being reliable.
The controls are adequate for tweaking but are not exaggerated any more than the real amp.
If the amp has extra gain it's there if the real amp does not it's not.
These mini pedals are already over 6 years old. AMT have always kept a low profile. I expect it is all about international politics where some poor bastard with a small pedal company gets lumped in with some maniac dictators running the country. Still it is what it is. The only thing different from the guys making an AMT pedal
from you and I is the color of their Strat, LOL.
CONCLUSION
I have bought and sold a few of the AMT OD's. I kept the S-Drive Sodano mini
and the AMT LA2 R2. It's their deluxe MESA Dual Rectifier jobbie. I absolutely love
them both. The R2 can do double duty if you stack a Fuzz on it for a mega sound.
I have alway been a big Marshall fan. In fact I am on my 3rd Plexi amp now.
I run it on the edge of Crunch and think of the famous gourmet pedal-in-Box
as my amps other channels. A Soldano, a Dual Rec and a 5150 are the gotta haves!
...So my P-Drive is on order delivery date is Aug. 15

the fine print
These pedals are often sold out. One has pretty
much had to buy them at the European store and
they are sold out. Economic world chaos, in shipping
manufacturing, finance and war doesn't help.
Fortunately 'Only Pedals' in Canada who are an official
dealer have stock. They want a little more ...$75.00 USD
but shipping is much cheaper and the delivery is very
much faster than Europe.
Only pedals carry a lot of cool and hard to find pedals
better still the prices are often silly cheap! The service
is second to none!
