COMPRESSOR- MOOER AUDIO Yellow Comp... 10 years old with no end in site?

MOOER AUDIO YELLOW COMP
$45.00 USD
 ship incl/AliExpress
There are literally 30 brands of mini pedals that are only a brand by name as they are Mooer mini pedals that the ONLY thing they change is the paint color, graphics and plastic knobs. They have done this since day one. The very best selling Mooer pedals are not on offer to these brands. Eventually all pedals become poor sellers
for Mooer and they too are on offer. One very big BUT is the Yellow Comp that
they have never re-branded for anyone.
It is a one for one clone of the Diamond Compressor. It is an Optic Compressor
that literal works from light. Nothing is more organic than real light. There are two hassles with this method though. It does not transfer highs well and there is lag going from light to the circuit. The highs can be fixed with EQ and fortunately the
lag thing is simply not that bad. The big deal is that its tone is simply sweet, sweet, sweet and the pumping squishing sound that other Comps have is simply NOT there.
The layout is Volume, EQ and Compression.
CONCLUSION __
Ideal for guys like what a comp can do but hate its side effects.
It sounds 100% Pro for an entry level price. A really excellent
addition as a second comp for a different sound or for Comp stacking.

  1. Is it the better option for a budget compressor. Is the Movall Galactic groove the best option for a budget tone bender. What is the difference with an expensive "boutique" Tonebender (apart the scarce NOS parts)?

  2. Asking what even the best compressor is, is a problem. It is like asking what the best OD is. I know a guy that does session work that has several very pricey Comps but he also has the Mooer. He gets called in for metal but he does every genre of it. Lately the gigs have been eary metal styles and as he said they are song orientated. They have a tune with chord changes like a Beatle song. They are not just a riff pounding away for 16 bars of repetition. I have had several pricy Comps I did not like. I have 5 Comps now and what works on one tune does not work on another. They all add a 'sound"of their own just like an OD does. The beauty of the Mooer is you may not love it but you won't hate it. An old school Dyna Comp style can be a total love or hate it thing. Most of the cheap Comps are Dyna Comps. The best of those is the Keeley Compressor + for $150.00 USD.

  3. Shout out to the Caline Pressure Tank also. Also a Diamond clone just doesn’t have the aesthetics
