The first pedal version was a monster made by Tom Oberheim for his Synths but ported over for guitar and sold as a Maestro Pedals. At any given time their are a few available and as many discontinued because they tend to be pricy and have a limited use.

CONCLUSION ___

A sensible addition of including conventional 

modulations that border on Phasers, Flangers, 

Chorus, Vibrato etc. makes the unit more 

flexible but it is not new. Most add some of this.
