A guitar builder makes pedals? Old school style one of each, a Booster, a Tube Screamer a Klon and this medium gain OD, but can be pushed into a bit of high gain.
They are marketed like a ball cap that one size fits all to a market where most of us are looking for makers that within reason specialize. Some only make dirt pedals for not only specific styles but even genres and sub genres of a style. In spite of the hype this is not going to win over Jazz players. The layout is Volume, Gain, Treble, Mids and Bass.
CONCLUSION___
In spite of the B.S. marketing the pedal sounds damn good. Chunky and fat mids, a nice clean attack. Very full and it sounds like an amp not a amp with pedal.
I had a chance to hear all their other pedals on a sampler vid. They were embarrassing compared to this pedal. My first impression was WTF!!!!
So bottom line the Vital is an impressive amp like sounding pedal.
