The company has been around for years with a generous choice of dirt pedals. A stellar rep for quality and a modest price. The pedal is based on the 1990's MIJ Bixonic Expandora. A pedal that used 2 Rat pedals set up to
a low and a high gain and then stacked flat out for a Fuzz. Billy Gibbons had 4 on his board to act as presets. Low gain, Medium Gain, High Gain and Fuzz 😇.Yes this is closer to ZZ Top sound than 99% of those pricey pedals that say they nailed it.
The layout is a standard Volume, Tone and Gain. The voices are selected by 2 toggles.
CONCLUSION ___
Is it Billy-in-Box. YES!!! NO!!! Who cares, lol The only tone rule for Rock since day one is ..Ïf it sounds good ...it is good.
