The original rack mount vintage units are a Photo-Optic Comp. They were famous for their transparent operation even if their sound was very colored it sounded good.
CONCLUSION ___
In the same series they also sell the equally famous UREI 1176 UA. Yes, the $400.00 USD Origin Cali76 is meant to be a UREI. UA owns UREI so it is improbable they got it wrong. Better still it is $30 cheaper than the LA-2A. On the other hand there is no bad choice.
