Klons are now like Tube Screamers every company makes one.
No surprises we get the standard gain, level and tone.
I lied there is one surprise. If you hold down the switch it goes from a gold Klon sound to a Silver one. There is subtle brightness when you do it. The Klon is all about a mid boost like a Tube screamer except it is much wider and it has a glassy chime to the mids. Truth is only the high end clones using all the NOS parts have the delicate and detailed chime of the original.
CONCLUSION.
If you get one of these high end specials like Decibelics you can hear just how detailed that sound is. It is not overly noticeable without good earphones on a video so you have to listen carefully. Once you do the cheaper stuff get's disappointing very quickly. In a band context even a $20.00 USD Mosky sounds impressive.
The harder you push it the less noticeable it gets.I bought a few to keep backed off fora clean sound. Without that chime I quickly started hating it!
