Groff is the new kid from Lancaster Pennsylvania with a few promising pedals.
The layout is a basic level, gain and a bass boost you can toggle on and and another toggle pushes a bit of punch into the upper mids. The mid boost is a nice touch as it really helps you cut without having to go crazy with the highs. The idea was to capture the sound of a Bluesbreaker and no ...it is not a Bluesbreaker pedal clone it is a fresh approach at a stab at a 1966 model 1974 Marshall combo amp. Kudos to Groff for giving us something different.
Do not confuse it with a Plexi it is does not have that low end thump or crushing sound of the old Super Lead!
It is much more laid back. But it does have a very rich smooth tone.
CONCLUSION
I can hardly criticize it for what it isn't. It is dead perfect for a lot of music. Even some of mine. lol
If you want more meat on the bone check out Tech N Tones
Momma Drive and Turbo Nonna. Unashamedly my fave OD's.
