The set up is a bit different. You have ratio which decides on the amount of compression. A level for over volume. A blend to add a bit of uncompressed guitar sound to mix in with the compresion. A switch for EQ and another for automatic, the good news is the automatic is killer so you can a great sound happening in minutes.
The cool thing is it has Neve transformer that adds transformer compression imitating a tube amps saturation via the amps transformer.
There has been so many makers that have brought out either a studio stye compressor or a Keeley 4 knob wannabe that this one fell thru the cracks. It is primarily
studio with that saturation from the transformer thing.
CONCLUSION
I had the good fortune to hear a guy use one on his Strat with a very modest crunch
playing at low volumes and he was getting that Hendrix full Plexi Stack clean sound
he told me the secret was the Lynhurst. WOW!
It would be great compressor for anyone but humbucker guys could get by with a Keeley +
and it is a hundred bucks less.
If you are a Strat guy and you want great sustain both with a clean sound or a dirt sound
this is a stand out!
