If you have never tried a Fuzz or worse still tried one and had expectations of those huge and totally wall of sound you heard on records and were totally bummed seconds after trying one then this is for you.
A Fuzz is NOT an OD in the classic sense of what an OD is. The first Fuzz pedals were totally unstable. The germanium transistors could even shut down with temperature changes. Hendrix always had at least 3 because on some days the one that did not work the day before would wok that day etc. If the current changed so did the bias and the Fuzz would spit and sputter and the sound would drop right out. For a true Fuzz lover this all part of the sound and even the fun.
Well the Wampler has tamed the beast with that perfect sound that you hear on classic records from the late 60's.
You may even get past your Fuzzphobia and like me want a Fuzz that comes unleashed. OK maybe ...but it must have a knob labeled 'whip'...
If you are a Fuzz lover fanatic why not get one of these and
run it it parallel with your Tonebender. LOL
