Basically 2 independent Analog Delays linked to create old school tape echo effects. The Layout gives you Time and Decay for both units
and you have a Mix to balance your wet dry sound.CONCLUSION __
It looks cool and has Pro handmade build.The analog
circuit has an excellent sound. One could argue the
price is indicative of two $150 pedals.That said if you just want a good Tape Delay
type pedal you can't beat the UAFX Orion Tape Echo.
It does a seriously good Echo-Plex sound and is a
very reasonable $130.00 USD.

I’d be surprised if this was really 2 bbd analog delays in series in such compact form. Most likely PT2399 derived. But I’ve been wrong before. Either way, the fact that and can’t tell by listening tells you how well the PT2399 chip is when used and filtered properly. I thought it had more of a space echo or echoplec sound.
ReplyDeleteI agree the Orion is hard to beat as I’ve owned 2. The big BUT is it takes 300ma just for a single head digital tape delay sound. Pretty sure that’s why they can be had so cheap.
