KMA MACHINES
GEMINUS
It is a faux double tracker. The idea is you play a part and it appears that your twin brother is playing the same part along with you. This can only happen with delaying that signal and varying that delay so it is not static and fixed to create that second signal. A slightly different tone and above all the pitch should alter between a hair sharp and flat. In stereo the effect is obviously more notable.

CONCLUSION__
The first EVH was just one live off the floor guitar part so the LP had an always on double-tracker.
The most popular trick to get that fullness is stereo modulation or a simple slap back delay. I particularly like an analog slapback.
This unit is very good. Dare I say it? It uses AI. The unit analyzes your playing and technique so it clones elements
of your style. It does not just make a machine like effect
with using delay in a fixed algorithm that bounces a
pause here and there.
In fact arguably the very best ever made. The big 'But'
is, it is faux and it sounds somewhat so.

How does it compare with the TC Mimiq (stereo) ?
ReplyDeleteI had the TC and got rid of it because it sounded really thin. If nothing even in mono the KMA fattens up the sound noticeably.
