Diamond
BOOST/EQ
The company has been playing around with this thing for years. Maybe too
little too late as REV brought out damn near the same thing 2 years ago
as the REVV Tilt Boost. The layout is Volume, Gain, Tilt EQ. They added a Mids control where
REVV added a highpass filter to tighten the sound. The overall effect
is definitely worth comparing.CONCLUSION ___
My problem is I gravitate to dark sounds like those from Brit amps.I want a Boost that adds some classic Fender amp sparkle.Ideally a Fender Twin Reverb Bright channel. In short both chimeand a mud killer. I have yet to find a killer one. I already have anduse low gain OD's set with the gain all but off and get what I heartoday from the Diamond and the REVV.

You tried the EarthQuaker Tone Job? Maybe you be better getting like a Wampler 65 and using it at very low gain.
ReplyDeleteThe Wampler is not the chimey Surf era silver grill cloth Fender amps I want as a boost. These have more in common with Bassman amps. Keep in mind a Marshall JTM 45 is a Bassman Amp with just a few really small tweaks. In short they are dark amps. If you try brighten them they get thin. I have bought and flipped easily 200 plus pedals since 2014. Mostly Overdrives and a few Fuzz. As for the Earthquaker it is very raspy, something I do like but it is NOT chimey. The Earthquaker Special Cranker is a tad harsh too but at least it is chimey. I have had one on my board since it came out in July '22.
