Bjorn Juhl started making in pedals in 1999. At first they were only handmade by him as BJF Pedals. Later he had
Bearfoot Pedals in the U.S. make them cheaper but you could still get a one made by Juhl. In the last few years he designed pedals for One Control. You can get some of these pedals made by all three. LOL
In 1999 a Brit sounding OD was always high gain. He saw the need for a medium gain Brit pedal as it is better for a lot of players for backing up vocals, strumming etc.
It was an instant hit ..the idea was great and to this day the tone is easily as good or better than most.
The One Control is  v.2 with presence added. 
CONCLUSION
Nothing is disappointing the pedal  simply cuts it all. Great tone and dynamics.
One significant down side. I tried all over the damn world and apparently One Control makes a lot of switcher pedals etc. Everyone has these but most do not carry a single One Control dirt pedal of any kind and there has to be at least 10 of the mini pedals and 6 B size Sweetwater
does not neither does Andertons or AMS. The company should do what  
many good makers do and provide them direct. People these days 
expect to find a product in seconds! I spent a half an hour minimum!!!
