Know I can die happy I can get Duane Allman in a box.
In the glorious days of the Allman Brothers I can remember all the fuss made about them. At the time I had been playing in blues bands and was anxious to hear the band. Sorry fans but my impression was that the band was crap! At the time what BB King, Albert King and
Muddy Waters played was blues. in short to those that are not purists. Stevie Ray Vaughn is blues. SRV could blow ol' Duane out of the water if he was blindfolded and had one had tied behind his back. He could do it without a single gimmick ...just playing straight blues! But REAL blues!
OK my rant is over :-)
Now the pedal!
The layout is gain, volume and tone with a control called
'voice' which combines presence teamed with some bite.
Bite being a bit of high end clipping it is voiced to give you 70's JBL-D 120 speaker sound. Having been around at the time ...some of the best ever made Celestions were easily available. The general vibe about a JBL is it did not sound to good but it was stupid loud! A toggle lets you add more gain.
CONCLUSION
Good question?
First the gain knob seems self oscillate much past 'noon' and the sweet spot is at 10 o'clock. No one seems to find anything to say about the switch. Furthermore I do not pick up a vibe of any real enthusiasm from the demonstrators.
Well it it falls into an Americana, Texas Blues, Outlaw Country thing.
The first thing that comes to mine is Zack Broyles Mythos Olympus pedal.
As you can tell this whole style is not my thing ...but Zack makes the pedals himself and plays just this kind of music which he does so naturally and soulfully it blows my mind! He was born to it!
Enough said!
Perhaps your taste in music will improve over time.
