PICKUP MAGNETS ???
I have P90, an Alnico 2 PAF and a modern higher gain Alnico 5 Humbucker. Add to that a classic Harmony S Gold Foil, and a real Rickenbacker. I also have the always necessary Fender Strat and Tele too. I almost forgot, I have a Gretsch, lol. I use ALL these PU's in my 10 guitars to cover my 35 original tunes. In short each of these Pickups have a noticeably distinct voice. I hate split coil sounds on a Hummy. They sound like you have a junk made in China PU. If you need a single coil sound get a REAL one. They will have you wondering how you thought a split coil was even usable. You should because they are not,😇.
All my HB PU's have Alnico 2 magnets. They are the most popular for fat warm sounds. They are tie with Alnico 5 in popularity. The 5 has a slight scoop, is naturally a little hotter and the lows make it beefier and aggressive.

Yes I am missing some sounds. I had lipstick tubes in my 1449 Silvertone guitar but took them out for a PAF and 64 Strat PU.I don't regret it as most of my tunes start life on that guitar. It is feather light light and has perfect balance and a short reachto the cowboy chord box. It is very resonant with a full rich sound and the sustain has a very nice swell for the perfect whole note
sounds. I had planned to get a Danelectro but lost out on 3 deals so I am likely to get one eventually. My main lust is for some
Burns Tri-Sonics (Brian May's go to.) I would also like a Guild HB. They were designed by DeArmond in the 60's.
ON A FINAL NOTE 𓌬 ___
You should get creative. I had the guts pulled from my Fender Duo Sonic. I then had a new pickguard made with a 65 Fender Tele put at the
bridge and a Rickenbacker installed at the neck. In the late 60's Pete Townsend went between his Rickenbacker and his '65 Tele. I have both
sounds in one guitar. It is an incredibly versatile guitar.
